Stuck on something?

Start with the answers below — they cover almost everything people write in about. Anything else, email us. We are small, so expect a reply in a day or two.

Common questions

Email us the case, the screen and — if you can — the reporting that contradicts it. Corrections are handled before anything else. If it concerns a person’s legal status, say so in the first line and we look the same day.

Films play inside Casewire through the publisher’s own embedded player, and some publishers switch embedding off for their videos. When that happens the app says so plainly and offers to open the film where it lives. If a film fails without that message, it is our bug — send the case name and we will chase it.

Alerts are set per case, not globally: open the case, tap the follow control and choose silent, major developments or everything. Silent and major are free — we are not going to charge you to make the app quieter. Nothing is ever sent during a Nightstand session, or inside the quiet hours you set.

Ask for it. The catalogue grows on request and requests are the main thing that decides the order. Adding a case badly — thin sourcing, no primary documents — is worse than not adding it, so a request may take a while to appear.

Open Settings inside Casewire and tap Restore purchases. That asks the App Store directly. If it still does not unlock, make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase, then write to us with the date of the purchase and we will sort it out.

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us: on your iPhone open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Casewire. Refunds also go through Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. Tell us as well if something went wrong — we would rather fix the reason.

There is no account and no server holding your data — deleting the app removes everything Casewire ever stored. If you have written to support, email us and we will delete that conversation too.

A real person reads it. For a correction, name the case and the screen. For a bug, your iOS version and what you were doing. It saves a round trip.
